What We Do
Cabaret Vagabond creates exciting and interactive audience experiencs, each one a mixed-media event including theatre, poetry, music, political satire and variety acts. Informed by the literary cabarets of Europe in the early twentieth century, each show uses audience interaction, spontaneity, and environment design to create truly unique entertainment. The performances are half-party, half-show, with the audience as an active part of the program.
The Vagabond company members use the cabaret as a venue to explore and test out new material. With a growing community of regular performers as well as the constant addition of new acts, each show displays a wide variety of artists and art forms.
We have collaborated with over one hundred artists working in different media: from musicians and slam poets to burlesque dancers, photographers, clowns, and comedians
What The Cabaret Is Not: it is not lounge singing, or a piano bar or a strip joint. None of that. Think less bump´n´grind, more Chat Noir. We gather. We make art. We drink and are so merry. We have a damn good time.
Think you might want to join in the fun? Are you a performer looking for the right venue to debut that solo acoustic version of your favorite Jay-Z song? Do you have a secret desire to stage a Twilight-Saga puppet show? Is there a brilliant sketch or stand-up routine or steamy burlesque number percolating inside of you?
We would love to hear about it, and to have you on stage. E-mail our Managing Director, Dani Bryant with details about your act, who you are and what you do. We cannot wait to hear from you!
